Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures

To safeguard the health and well-being of all our Cougars, we ask that our families remember and abide by the rules in place for pickup and drop-off.

school buses

Only school buses are allowed in the bus lane. No parent/guardian parking is allowed in that area at any time. Only staff and students are allowed on the bus ramp; parents and guardians are not allowed to walk past the marked area. If your student inadvertently boards their bus on a day when they are supposed to be picked up, do not attempt to find them yourself to get them off the bus; have a staff member radio the bus ramp to look for your student. There is no parking in the pickup/drop-off lane in front of the school. Please pull all the way forward and have your student exit and enter your vehicle at the curbside; please do not pick up or drop off your child in the middle of the driving lane or in the parking lot itself. If you park in the parking lot at the school or at Centennial Field, please accompany your child to the front of the school using the marked crosswalk and obeying any instructions provided by a crossing guard.  Please remember that the handicapped parking spaces are for our parents and students who either permanently or temporarily need extra space and closer proximity to our entrance.  Students should not be dropped off or picked up in these spots.

Students may ride only their assigned bus route. Should they need to get off at a different stop on their route, their parent can contact Transportation at (425) 831-8020 to notify staff of the change.

Emergency bus passes are issued for family emergencies and reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Any adult picking up a child at school who is not part of their household needs to be on that child's emergency contact/OK to pick up list. Parents/guardians can add friends, neighbors, babysitters, etc. to their emergency contact/OK to pick up list by emailing brucea1@svsd410.org, calling the office at (425) 831-8050 or by stopping in at the office and requesting the person be added, sharing the person's full name and phone number.
We ask that our families follow these guidelines to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
