TRUSTWORTHINESS

Ø     We tell the truth.

Ø     We are reliable – we keep our promises.

Ø     We do not lie, cheat, or steal.

RESPECT

Ø     We do not hurt others – physically or verbally.

Ø     We use manners . . . “PLEASE” and “THANK YOU.”

Ø     We raise our hands to speak or to ask questions – we do not talk out of turn.

Ø     When someone is talking to the whole class we . . .

v    Remain silent

v    Stay in our seats

v    Keep hands empty

v    Focus on the speaker

Ø     We only use language which is appropriate for school.

Ø     We follow the noise level given by Mr. Crumb.

RESPONSIBILITY

Ø     We are responsible for our own actions – no excuses and NO WHINING!

Ø     We use our agendas and binders to stay organized.

Ø     We turn in assignments on time.

Ø     We always have the necessary school supplies (paper, pencils, binder, agenda, etc.).

Ø     We come to school ready to learn (enough sleep, a good breakfast, homework completed,

    arrive on time).

Ø     We use our time wisely and participate in classroom activities to the best of our abilities.

Ø     We act like 4th graders!!!  (No “baby talk,” no excessive tattling, etc.).

Ø     We always try to give our best effort and to do our neatest work.

Ø     We never give up and we stay positive, even when things aren’t going the way we’d like.

Ø     We listen to directions the FIRST TIME they are given.

Ø     When recess ends, we IMMEDIATELY return to class (bathroom breaks, drinks, and

    clean-up take place during recess).

Ø     We try to settle minor disputes amongst ourselves before going to Mr. Crumb.

FAIRNESS

Ø     We cooperate with partners and/or group members.

Ø     We are patient and take turns.

Ø     We play by the rules.

Ø     We keep our hands, feet, and belongings to ourselves.

CARING

Ø     We give compliments.

Ø     We try to help others when they need it.

Ø     We never use put-downs, name-calling, “shut ups”, etc.

CITIZENSHIP

Ø     We take good care of things that don’t belong to us (in the classroom, playground, and school).

Ø     We keep our classroom neat and orderly – including the floor around and the inside of our desks!

Ø     We practice common sense safety (no running, all four chair legs kept on the floor, etc.).

Ø     We recycle and reuse whenever possible.

Ø     We walk quietly in the hallways.

Ø     We follow all classroom AND school rules.
